Privacy Policy
Last updated June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information RetireSmart (the "Site") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible — our calculators run entirely in your browser and the numbers you enter are not sent to us.
1. Information we collect
We do not require you to create an account. The values you type into our calculators (age, savings, contributions, etc.) are processed locally in your browser and are not transmitted to or stored by us. Our hosting provider and analytics tools may log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and pages viewed, in order to operate the Site and measure aggregate traffic.
2. Cookies
We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, measure traffic, and serve relevant advertising. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of the Site work.
3. Advertising and Google AdSense
The Site is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google, to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
- For more information about how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
4. Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand which pages are popular and how the Site is performing. These tools use aggregated, non-identifying information where possible.
5. How we use information
Information collected automatically is used to operate, secure, and improve the Site, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and serve and measure advertising. We do not sell personal information.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the UK/EU under UK GDPR / GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because we do not hold accounts or store the values you enter into the calculators, most requests will relate to advertising and analytics cookies — which you can control through the links in section 3 and your browser settings.
7. Children
The Site is intended for adults planning their finances and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
9. Contact
Privacy questions can be sent through the Site's contact channels listed in the footer.
